Senior Residential Support Worker – Derby

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join one of our Clients in the Derby Area. These are NEW homes so a great opportunity!

The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in young lives while working within a supportive and professional environment. The role involves leading by example, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of residents, and working closely with colleagues to deliver personalised care plans.

Duties

• Provide day-to-day support and supervision to children and young people in the residential setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Assist with organising activities that encourage personal growth and community engagement.
• Support residents with daily routines such as personal care, education, and leisure activities.
• Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress, incidents, and any concerns in line with organisational policies.
• Drive residents safely to appointments or activities as required, ensuring compliance with road safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, families, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for residents.
• Lead by example in adhering to organisational policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.

Requirements

• At least two years experience working with children or young people in a residential or childcare environment.
• Residential Childcare Qualification L3 minimum
• Valid driving licence with the ability to drive residents safely when required.
• Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
• Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Compassionate approach combined with patience and resilience in challenging situations.
