About the Role

We are looking for experienced Support Workers to join a network of leading care providers in Mansfield and surrounding areas on an ongoing agency schedule. In this rewarding role, you will support individuals with a range of needs, helping them to live independently, safely, and with dignity. You will play a key part in promoting choice, inclusion, and wellbeing while providing person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs.

Your responsibilities will include

• Supporting individuals with daily living tasks and routines
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and behaviours that may challenge
• Managing challenging behaviours in a calm, safe, and professional manner
• Promoting independence and encouraging service users to achieve personal goals
• Supporting individuals in the community, including appointments and social activities
• Assisting with meal preparation and household tasks
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any concerns
• Supporting individuals with medication where trained and required
• Following care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
• Ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment
• Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and other support staff
• Adhering to safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a support work or care setting
• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, complex needs, or behaviours that may challenge
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a safe and professional manner
• A caring, compassionate, and empathetic attitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach, sensitive to the needs of service users
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records
• Medication training is beneficial but not essential
• PMVA/MAPA training is beneficial but not essential
• A valid UK driving licence is preferred as you may be expected to travel between different care clients and community settings
